Mr. Khondoker Rokib Hossain is an experienced insurance professional with over 29 years of leadership experience in Bangladesh’s general insurance industry. He joined Eastern Insurance PLC in May 2024 as Deputy Managing Director. Due to his strong leadership and contribution to business development, he was later promoted to Additional Managing Director. Currently, he is serving as the Head of Motijheel Branch, Dhaka, where he is responsible for strengthening operations, expanding business, and building a strong performance-driven team.
Mr. Rokib was born in 1970 in Narail, Bangladesh. He started his professional career in 1993 as Head of Administration at Computer Source Limited, Dhaka. He entered the insurance industry in 1997 as Deputy Manager at Central Insurance Company Limited. In 2000,
he joined Prime Insurance Company Limited as Vice President, where he served until 2004. Later, he joined Continental Insurance Limited and held several important positions including Vice President, Senior Vice President, Executive Vice President, Executive Director, and Branch In-Charge at different branches. Because of his consistent performance and leadership, he was eventually promoted to Deputy Managing Director.
During his long career, Mr. Rokib has received recognition as a Best Organizer in the Insurance Sector from different professional organizations. He has also received several Performance Awards for his contribution to business growth, operational management, and team leadership.
He completed his Master of Arts (M.A.) in Philosophy from the University of Dhaka in 1991, after earning his Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) from the University of Rajshahi in 1989. He possesses strong leadership capabilities with extensive experience in strategic leadership, business development, and branch and operations management. Throughout his professional career, he has demonstrated excellent relationship management skills, building strong connections with clients and stakeholders. In addition, he is recognized for his ability in team development, effectively guiding and motivating teams to achieve organizational goals.
