Mr. Matiur Rahman, the Chairman & Managing Director of Uttara Group of Companies and serves as a Sponsor Director of Eastern Insurance Company Ltd. Furthermore, He was the President of Dhaka Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DCCI). He was also the founder President of Japan Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce & Industry (JBCCI) and a member of Bangladesh Thai Chamber of Commerce & Industry (BTCCI). Mr. Matiur Rahman is the Director of National Life Insurance Co. Ltd. He is also the Director of Bangladesh Textile Mills Association (BTMA). He is the Chairman of the Governing Body of Chargas N.I. Bhuiyan Degree College, Founder Member of Chargas N.I. Bhuiyan High School & Chargas Afia Khatun Girls High School, Chargas, Kasba, Brahmanbaria. These educational institutes were established by his family and named after his parents. He is the Senior Advisor to the District Governor of Lions District 315-B4, Bangladesh. He is the President of Bangladesh Motorcycle Assemblers & Manufacturers Association (BMAMA). Mr. Matiur Rahman is the Chairman of the Greater Comilla Kallyan Trust, Advisor of the Kasba Upazila Samiti and Donar Member of the Brahmanbaria Foundation Management and Advisory Council. He has been conferred the ‘Order of the Rising Sun’ by the Government of Japan in the year 2021 for his decades long and outstanding contributions to the development of bi-lateral economic and industrial relationships between Bangladesh and Japan.
